THE BLOOD OF INNOCENTS
By Carol Rushton
Celebrations were held all over the country. Best wishes and blessings poured in. People who had been waiting for weeks for the announcement rejoiced. The staff and security forces had prepared for months so that everything would be safe and secure, providing the best care possible for the great event. The occasion? Prince William and his wife, the Duchess of Cambridge Catherine Middleton, had just had their third child, a healthy, beautiful baby boy, born on April 23, 2018.
Ironically in the same city in another hospital at the same time, another scene was being played out with another baby boy, this one not so joyous, the staff not so anxious and caring to provide the best medical care possible. While one hospital had nurses and doctors determined to make sure that one baby boy would live, the other hospital nurses and doctors were just as equally determined that the other baby boy would die. While police officers guarded the new royal baby with their lives, police officers stood outside the door of the other baby’s hospital room to ensure the parents could not “steal” their baby to seek medical care for him elsewhere. While one thrilled and happy couple left a hospital with their precious newborn, another couple would soon leave a hospital devastated and mourning, never to hold their precious child again.
Nothing is wrong with wanting the royal family of England to welcome another baby into their fold. Most people want all couples to give birth to healthy, happy babies. However, something is very wrong with a government and a medical care system that has a Machiavellian resoluteness that deliberately and arbitrarily denies medical care to some babies so they will die, unable to pursue and fulfill their God-given rights to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness, while allowing other babies, because of the wealth or status of their parents, to live.
Alfie Evans and his predecessor Charlie Gard are the latest victims of a government and health care system devolving into an evil, immoral, godless tyranny that decides who lives and who dies, with no possible way to change the outcome, no matter how passionate the appeals, no matter how senseless and vile the result. What now makes the British government and health care system any different from the ancients who sacrificed their children on pagan altars to appease gods and goddesses that did not exist, the Nazis who murdered millions of Jews and others in gas chambers and concentration camps, the Communists and Marxists who murdered millions more in a paean to their atheism, or Margaret Sanger, the founder of Planned Parenthood, who wanted to use abortion to eliminate minorities in the United States?
God and the Bible in the public square have been deliberately outlawed in Great Britain as well as here in the United States and since nature abhors a vacuum, secular humanism has rushed to take its place. Hailed as the great savior of reason that would replace the supposed dogmatism and constraints of Judeo-Christian ethics and morality, secular humanism is now revealed in the case of these two baby boys as the utopian nightmare of death it really is.
Aldous Huxley, grandson of Sir Thomas Huxley, who championed Darwin’s theory of evolution, predicted this future in his 1932 book, Brave New World. He boasted of using evolution to rid the world of Judeo-Christian morality so mankind could seek and obtain materialism and sexual freedom with no guilt. The following is one of Huxley’s most famous quotes from his book, Ends and Means.
“I had motives for not wanting the world to have a meaning; and consequently assumed that it had none, and was able without any difficulty to find satisfying reasons for this assumption. The philosopher who finds no meaning in the world is . . . concerned to prove that there is no valid reason why he personally should not do as he wants to do. For myself, as no doubt for most of my friends, the philosophy of meaninglessness was essentially an instrument of liberation from a certain system of morality. We objected to the morality because it interfered with our sexual freedom. The supporters of this system claimed that it embodied the meaning – the Christian meaning, they insisted – of the world. There was one admirably simple method of confuting these people and justifying ourselves in our erotic revolt: we would deny that the world had any meaning whatever.”
If there is no meaning in the world, then people have no meaning. What you do or do not do has no meaning. You can do whatever you want to do with or to whomever you want, including murdering a child, and justify it by saying that life is meaningless. Huxley would be proud.
No one questions that England’s royal family should have extraordinary care and security when it comes to special events, especially at a wedding or in the case of a birth. No one questions or opposes the extraordinary efforts that would be made by the medical staff at any British hospital if a royal baby or child had a disease or were in danger of dying. So why can’t average British citizens seek treatment in another country for their child if the British medical professionals are unable or unwilling to do so?
The best analysis I have read is that because some years ago Great Britain allowed a couple to get successful treatment for their child in another country when the British doctors had pronounced there was no hope, they did not want to be “embarrassed” again. God forbid that the life of a child should come before the feelings of British medical professionals and government officials.
Unfortunately, Alfie Evans and Charlie Gard will not be the last to be murdered – yes, cruelly and willfully murdered – by the British health care system, aided and abetted by the British government. While William Wilberforce was successful in having slavery outlawed in Great Britain in 1833, no current British politician in 2018 seems to want to free British citizens from being slaves to their own government. I could find articles citing the outrage of American politicians Ted Cruz and Mike Huckabee to the Alfie Evans case but sadly none naming British politicians who should have been just as outraged.
Over 2,500 years ago, the vast majority of Jews in Israel had abandoned God and His laws to the point where they joined their heathen neighbors in sacrificing their own babies and children to pagan gods and goddesses. God pronounced His judgment upon them in Jeremiah 19:4-8:
“Because they have forsaken me, and have estranged this place, and have burned incense in it unto other gods, whom neither they nor their fathers have known, nor the kings of Judah, and have filled this place with the blood of innocents; They have built also the high places of Baal, to burn their sons with fire for burnt offerings unto Baal, which command not, nor spake it, neither came it into my mind. . .I will cause them to fall by the sword before their enemies, and by the hands of them that seek their lives: and their carcases will I give to be meat for the fowls of the heaven, and for the bests of the earth. And I will make this city desolate, and an hissing; every one that passeth thereby shall be astonished and hiss because of all the plagues thereof.”
Only thing is left to be said for those in British health care system and government: May God’s judgment be upon them.
