A NINEVEH MOMENT PART V

WHAT DO WE DO NOW?

This article is part five in a series of articles entitled, “A Nineveh Moment.”  We began by looking at the true story of Jonah, who, in the 8th century B.C. was sent by the Lord on an evangelistic mission to Nineveh. This city was so wicked that Jonah’s message was straightforward: “Yet forty days, and Nineveh shall be overthrown” (Jonah 3:4). We are not told the manner in which the overthrow would take place, but the message was effective: “So the people of Nineveh believed God, and proclaimed a fast, and put on sackcloth, from the greatest of them unto the least of them” (Jonah 3:4). We do know that, in the case of Nineveh judgment was averted but only delayed.

The city of Nineveh fell to the Babylonians in 612 B.C. , the city became an utter desolation and its palaces and temples were torn down. Zephaniah predicted this destruction: “And he will stretch out his hand . . . and destroy Assyria; and will make Nineveh a desolation, and dry like a wilderness . . . This is the rejoicing city that dwelt carelessly, that said in her heart, I am, and there is none beside me: how is she become a desolation, a place for beasts to lie down in? every one that passeth by her shall hiss, and wag his hand” (2:13, 15). History reveals that Nineveh’s repentance was short-lived and that judgment averted merely became judgment delayed.

That may certainly prove to be the case in America as well. It is my contention that, with the election of Donald Trump, the overthrow of this country that would have surely occurred under Hillary Clinton has been averted. For how long and to what measure judgment will be averted in America lies in the mysterious realm called “the future”. However, it is my contention, based on biblical history, that the actions of man do influence the decisions of God, as seen in the Jonah narrative. That being said, what actions do I believe will avert, or at least delay, the judgment of God on our beloved country? Let me suggest a few:

REPENTANCE: This was the immediate response of the Ninevites. Repentance averted the impending judgment of God. Notice the proclamation of the king of Nineveh: “And he caused it to be proclaimed and published through Nineveh by the decree of the king and his nobles, saying, Let neither man nor beast, herd nor flock, taste any thing: let them not feed, nor drink water: But let man and beast be covered with sackcloth, and cry mightily unto God: yea, let them turn every one from his evil way, and from the violence that is in their hands. Who can tell if God will turn and repent, and turn away from his fierce anger, that we perish not? And God saw their works, that they turned from their evil way; and God repented of the evil, that he had said that he would do unto them; and he did it not” (Jonah 3: 7-10).

Repentance is the first order of business for the Laodicean Church in America. Repentance is defined in Baker’s Evangelical Dictionary of Biblical Theology as: “turning from evil, and turning to the good.” In my view, the Laodicean Church in America has been way too concerned about entertaining and pacifying their congregations for the sake of institutional advancement, rather than impacting society for Christ. I say this as one who served as a full-time pastor for over 25 years.

Christians, individually and collectively, need to turn from their evil and violent ways, as the king of Nineveh wisely instructed his people. I believe this turning from violence needs to be reflected in America’s foreign policy as well. Since the 911 False Flag event, America has been on a rampage of aggression unlike any country since the Axis Powers in World War II.

National aggression invites the judgment of God! Following Jonah’s ministry, Nineveh later became the capital of the Assyrian Empire. Assyria’s subsequent aggression against neighboring countries eventually resulted in the judgment of God upon Nineveh; indeed the entire Assyrian empire was destroyed. God has judged every aggressive, warlike empire in history, whether it be Egypt, Assyria, Babylon, Greece, Rome, Spain, England, France, Germany or Japan. Do we think that the Lord, who is no respecter of persons or nations, will spare America for its rapacious destruction of multiple nations in the Middle East over the last 15 years? The Zionist Neocons who have run our government since 2001 need to be rooted out, and I am hopeful that, under Donald Trump’s leadership, that this will take place.

PRAY FOR PRESIDENT-ELECT TRUMP: The globalists who hijacked our country in 1963 are in full panic. They thought that their control of the duopoly parties and the mainstream media was sufficient to keep Trump from winning the election. They were wrong! Truth be told, he won in a landslide, as impartial polls predicted Trump was ahead by about 70 percent to Hillary’s 20 percent. Now that he is heading toward inauguration, they will probably attempt to do a couple things. First, they will try to eliminate him. That is always in their deck of cards when they have a president they cannot control. Remember Kennedy and Reagan? These are the same Illuminati families that are running the show behind the scenes today. They are experts at assassination. There have already been multiple attempts on his life during the campaign. All it would take is a small explosive on Trump’s plane or a “tomato” like John Hinckley to prevent Trump from taking office.

If that doesn’t succeed, they will try to infiltrate him. They will attempt to place globalists in his administration. Already, he is being surrounded by men like Rudy Giuliani and Newt Gingrich, who are well-connected globalists. Even neocons like Paul Ryan and Bill Kristol are trying to “make nice” so they can infiltrate and influence the Trump administration. The more they can infiltrate his administration, the more his life is in danger. We need to pray for Mr. Trump’s protection and discernment.

PROSECUTE THE CLINTONS: Justice in America is in tatters as a result of the Clinton crimes, which are too numerous to reiterate. It is obvious to any observer that the leadership of the DOJ and FBI are totally corrupt. There is, indeed, two standards of justice in America. The protected ruling class can literally get by with murder while the unprotected “deplorables” have no protections against the government. It is a despicable fact that no federal official has been sent to prison since the Watergate years! This has got to change; otherwise, our country will inevitably descend into utter chaos and lawlessness.
For the sake of justice in America, when Trump takes office he needs to order his Attorney General to appoint a Special Prosecutor and Grand Jury to investigate and prosecute the multiple felonies of the Clintons. During this campaign, millions of Americans have been crying out for the need to “lock her up.” This is a cry for JUSTICE! Only by meting out justice to the Clintons and their criminal cabal, will President Trump send a clear message that corruption, even at the highest levels of government, will be punished.

EMBRACE PUBLIC SERVICE: Christians have, for too long, viewed politics as a “dirty business.” Pastors have encouraged political passivity in the pews; promoting vocational Christian service as being limited to pastors and missionaries. Hogwash! Civil service is an exalted calling, and pastors should encourage and support congregants in this holy calling. Only by Spirit-filled believers running and attaining public office will righteous government be secured in the long-term.

RECLAIM PUBLIC EDUCATION: President-elect Trump has stated that he wants to abolish Common Core and return school choice to Americans. His novel and practical concept is that educational money should follow the student, whether into homeschooling, parochial schools, charter schools or public schools. This concept of true “school choice” should lead to a resurgence of the homeschool and Christian school movement. This will, in the long-term, help reverse the Marxist indoctrination that millions of public school children increasingly been subjected to in this country.

We do not know how long this “Nineveh moment” will last in America. I would warn against complacency. Though a significant battle for liberty has been won, may I remind you that “eternal vigilance is the price of liberty.” The enemies of freedom will not quit, just as the devil, whom they serve, will not quit. In fact we should expect them to redouble their efforts. As Christians we rejoice that, one day soon, the time of battle will be over, as we look forward to the blessed hope of being forever with the Lord.
